Scully has managed to hot foot it up Insurance Post’s Power List this year, climbing from 33rd position in last year’s list to 31st place in this year’s ranking.

Like the British Insurance Awards, Carpenters Group also turns 30-years-old this year and Scully’s staying power at the top, ability to challenge rule makers, plus her efforts to make the sector more diverse and inclusive have proven worthy of many plaudits over the decades.

A lawyer and an experienced public speaker as well as a podcaster, Scully writes industry articles on fraud, reform matters that impact the insurance as well as legal market.

She raised up the Power List ranking this year thanks to her work with the Ministry of Justice in relation to motor claims and civil justice reform, which has been covered repeatedly by Post in the last 12 months.

Her efforts to increase inclusion in the sector are widely recognised, seeing her shortlisted in the Person with Purpose category at the Northern Power Women Awards 2023 and awarded the Outstanding Achievement of the Year Award 2023 at the Modern Claims Awards.

She runs a homeless breakfast club every Sunday, is an Ambassador for Fans Supporting Foodbanks, is a Football for Change Champion plus mentors for the Girls Network and The Insurance Breakfast Club.

A great example of someone who has consistently given back to society, Scully also has twin sons and in her spare time enjoys pilates and social media, hence the fact her number of followers on X and LinkedIn puts some other industry leaders to shame.
