Insurers

Canopius
Canopius has hired Philip Turner as head of specie, reporting to group head of marine Joyce Webb. Turner joins from Marsh where he lead the specie practice for the last 20 years. He began his career as a marine broker for Willis Faber & Dumas.

Ecclesiastical
Ecclesiastical has bolstered its heritage residential and fine art team with two new appointments. Giles Fairmann has joined as operational head of the team and Kara Joseph as senior claims handler. Fairmann previously worked at RSA, where he was head of global, wholesale and delegated brokers within the private client space, and at Hiscox as head of corporate partnerships. Joseph joins from Chubb, where she worked on the high-net-worth household and commercial accounts.

Endeavour
Endeavour has appointed David Price to drive the firm’s specialist business across the US and Canada. Price is former head of broker relations for London and Europe at Beazley, where he also held underwriting and broker management roles based in London and the US. He has 29 years of insurance experience, extensively with the Lloyd’s market specialising in property, liability, casualty, cyber, professional, product recall, reinsurance, kidnap and ransom, and international liability classes. Rural Insurance
Agricultural insurer Rural has taken on Maria Leighton as finance director. Leighton has occupied a number of strategic roles in the insurance sector over the past 18 years – including time at Aviva and Yorkshire-based Engage Mutual. As the owner of a smallholding, Leighton has seen the new and emerging rural population with its own needs, alongside the more traditional farming businesses.

Marshall Wooldridge
Marshall Wooldridge has appointed Imran Khan as new business broking manager. Khan has more than 10 years’ experience in the insurance industry and joins from Romero Insurance. Reporting directly to MD James Hall he will be responsible for driving forward Marshall Wooldridge’s new business strategy.

Miller
Steve Talboys has joined Miller to drive its sports and leisure business, which was launched in May and is led by James Hands. Talboys, who was previously a professional footballer, has worked for Hyperformance Insurance, Panacea and most recently Aon.


Loss Adjusters


Cunningham Lindsey
Ian Westney has joined Cunningham Lindsey’s major and complex loss team as a major loss adjuster, working out of the company’s branch office in Manchester. Prior to joining the firm Westney was with Amedeo Adjusting and GAB Robins. BLM
BLM has strengthened its casualty team with the addition of a new partner, Caroline Craigie, who has joined the company from Kennedys. She has more than 17 years’ experience in the casualty space, handling employers’ liability and public liability matters. Over the course of her career, she has handled international claims, including product liability and personal injury claims arising out of accidents abroad. She also manages catastrophic injury claims including spinal cord and head injuries, amputations and fatal accidents claims.

Transactor Global Solutions has named Nick Lerway as chief operating officer. Lerway will be responsible for the customer-related areas of the business, including project management, business analysis, implementation, training, testing, release and configuration, and support. Lerway has held high-level positions at Insure 4 Retirement, Homeserve and Rias.
