Storm surge cat bond issued for New York MTA

The first ever catastrophe bond for storm surge has been issued for the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority, based on modelling from RMS.

Through the MetroCat Re bond the $200m (£132m) of storm surge risk will be transferred to the capital markets providing the MTA with protection against risk from future named storms.

It will see
