Property damage claim average has more than doubled over a decade

The average cost of property damage claims has more than doubled in the past 10 years, with pay-outs totalling £4bn per year, according to research from law firm BLM.

Commissioned in conjunction with the Institute of Directors, the research showed that between 2004 and 2014, average claim values rose from £1144 to £2298. Weather-related claims during that period
