Brokers fear insurance law reform will add to PI costs
In its response to the Law Commission, the Institute of Insurance Brokers has stated that it does not believe any amendments to insurance law should attempt to confer different rights to private and business policyholders (or any combination of the two, such as work from home) saying, a law for one, and a different law for the other, would be inconsistent and lead to serious operational and application complications.
In a statement the IIB said it "passionately believes" that policyholders generally (except reinsurance cedents, who are underwriters themselves) should not be expected to understand all the factors
