FSCS dishes out £46m in insurance claims
The Financial Services Compensation Scheme paid out a total of £82m in compensation claims for 2007/08.
Of this, about £46m was paid towards general insurance claims, comprising of 9451 compensation payments, in the financial year to 31 March 2008.
The organisation received a total of 16 490 new claims
