Infopro Digital’s insurance titles took home half of the awards at the annual British Insurance Brokers’ Association Journalist and Media Awards on Tuesday.

Of the twelve awards up for grabs Insurance Post won four and Insurance Age two.

Impressively the titles came out victorious in two of the three awards that could be possibly won by teams.

Insurance Post won the inaugural Best Publication Award given to the journal Biba felt had “in the judges’ opinion best presented insurance matters in the course of the year”.

Insurance Age beat out the BBC and Daily Mail to win the Best Digital or Broadcast Award for its podcast series: “Top Five”.

Individually, Post’s senior reporter Jen Frost came out top in the Best Trade Award and Insurance Age’s news editor Ida Axling won the Best Interview/Profile category.

These were the latest prizes for this talented duo after Ida won General Insurance Journalist of the Year at the Headlinemoney Awards; and Jen the MHP’s top finance journalist under the age of 30.

Post reporter Harry Curtis beat out competition to be crowned Most Promising Newcomer and Post production editor David Whittam became the first ever winner of the Biba Best Visual Media Award.

Infopro Digital insurance content director Jonathan Swift commented: “The Biba Journalist and Media Awards are always a useful annual barometer of how well we are doing given that they are voted for by a diverse group of industry practitioners - rather that PRs and marketers

“And so, based on this latest haul of gongs, I could not be prouder of the Insurance Post and Insurance Age teams as they are evidently respected on so many fronts - from what we do visually, through broadcast/digital media, profiling individuals or reporting on the overall trade sector.

“Winning the first ever Best Publication Award was a great conclusion to the awards, and highlighted that Infopro Digital is the go-to source for the most in-depth and respected insurance information and news in the trade media.”
