Penny Black’s Insurance Week - 4 September

Penny is made of strong stuff. She once went on a rollercoaster and barely flinched as she did the loop-de-loop.

That takes a strong stomach, especially for the onlooker – you should have seen what her petticoats were doing. However, not blessed with such a stout constitution are claims staff at Lorica, who have been tested for months by ongoing construction work next door to their office in EC3. Such has been the vibration caused by the work (which also included the accidental destruction of one adjoining wall) that staff have reported instances of motion sickness. Penny recommends John Hayward’s famous cure of a watered-down teaspoon of cayenne pepper to help them toughen up.
