Insurers ‘on notice’ after Hanjin shipping collapse

Insurers should be ready for a deluge of claims in the coming weeks as the collapse of Hanjin shipping company leaves cargo stranded at ports or on the high seas, Crawford & Company has warned.

The Korean shipping firm filed for receivership on Wednesday following a failure to restructure its debt. Shipments by the company have been frozen and vessels have been unable to offload cargo.
