Mediation myth debunked by settlement successes
New figures prove that personal injury cases — often cited as the exception to the rule — can be successfully mediated. Statistics from specialist not-for-profit organisation Trust Mediation reveal that, out of 33 PI cases handled between January and July 2010, 29 settled — equating to a rate exceeding 87%.
Of the four cases 'not settled', three are adjourned and, since its launch three years ago, the organisation's annual settlement rates have ranged between 85% and 95%.
