Equitas reaches agreement on asbestos insurance dispute
Equitas has reached a comprehensive agreement to settle Hercules’s insurance claims against certain underwriters at Lloyd’s of London reinsured by Equitas.
As a result of the agreement, Equitas will pay a total of $97m (£54m). Hercules will receive $30m and $67m will go into an asbestos trust that has been established to resolve asbestos-related claimsOnly users who have a paid subscription or are part of a corporate subscription are able to print or copy content.
