New hope for Californian workers' compensation system
Speakers at the Risk and insurance management society conference in San Diego said they were satisfied the agreement reached on Friday will bring real reform to the Californian workers’ compensation system. The hugely expensive system has long been considered in need of reform but the election of Governor Schwarzenegger, who made resolving the problem one of his key election pledges, has added new impetus to the process.
Tim East, chair of the Californian Coalition on Workers Compensation said that although all parties have compromised, the workers' compensation reform legislation (SB899, Poochigian) came out of aOnly users who have a paid subscription or are part of a corporate subscription are able to print or copy content.
