ABI attacks Scottish Parliament vote on asbestos bill
The Association of British Insurers has hit out at yesterday's vote by the Scottish Parliament to pass the Damages (Asbestos-related Conditions) (Scotland) Bill. The trade body claims SMPs have ignored the facts about pleural plaques, and it could have far-reaching, unintended consequences.
Insurers are seriously considering mounting a judicial review against the Bill, having taken legal advice.
