Hartford to lay off 2% of workforce
(BESTWIRE) A week after posting a $2.6bn third-quarter loss, US insurer Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. said it is laying off nearly 2% of its total work force and may cut more jobs in January.
The company will lay off about 500 of its 31,000 employees this year, said spokeswoman Debora Raymond.
All the layoffs will occur within the United States, and 125 will be in the Hartford, Conn., area
