We have a sign in our kitchen with the rules of the house. As well as being told not to run (and throw balls in the house), my son knows it’s important to play nicely.

As soon as he was old enough to interact with people, he was told to share, respect other people’s space, not to snatch and to tell the truth. All these things combine to make life easier and more
