Allianz Worldwide Care launches AI symptom checker to drive paperless claims process
Allianz Worldwide Care has implemented Artificial Intelligence-driven symptom checker service into its My Health app to provide customers with a paperless claims process and medical advice.
The AI of the Symptom Checker asks policy holders about their medical conditions and provides them with a preliminary evaluation of their symptoms to assess whether or not medical treatment is needed.
Allianz Worldwide Care has seen more than half of its claimants using the My Health app to submit medical claims, with the number of claims being submitted hitting 750,000.
The app provides customers with medical information and the insurers has said that claims submissions via the app exceeds those submitted through traditional methods.
Alexis Obligi, chief sales and marketing officer at Allianz Worldwide Care, said that a trend in digital usage is driving the uptake in paperless claims processes.
“We have always pushed ourselves to be leaders when it comes to technology in this area,” said Obligi.
“Our members expect continuous innovation, and we are seeing a strong trend towards digital usage and uptake in paperless claims submissions. Developed in conjunction with medical professionals, the symptom checker is by no means a replacement for the real thing. It is, however, a valuable tool to be used to secure an initial assessment for our members and we’ve had an incredibly positive response so far.”
The My Health app is available to download on smart devices for free and so for there has been 228,000 downloads of the service.
