Swinton has appointed Rob Harding as its chief financial officer following the resignation of Chris Plumer, pending regulatory approval.

Harding, who is currently chief risk officer at the broker, joined Swinton in 2012 after holding senior management positions with Ageas and Aviva.

He will continue to oversee the risk function as part of his new role.

A spokesman for Swinton said: "Chief risk officer Rob Harding has been appointed CFO (subject to regulatory approval). A qualified chartered accountant, Rob has significant experience of advising financial services firms on finance, risk and regulatory matters."

Plumer resigned from Swinton after two and a half years as chief financial officer.

The spokesman added: "We can confirm that Christian Plumer has resigned from Swinton after two and a half years as CFO. We would like to thank Christian for the significant contribution he has made to the business and wish him well for the future."
