Catastrophe modeler AIR Worldwide expects the deadly cyclone which hit East India on 12 October to cost between $100m and $400m of insured property claims.
AIR Worldwide admitted uncertainties in quantifying the data at such an early stage (such as take up rate of insurance) and also stated its estimate only reflects damage to commercial and residential
