Biba hits out at Airmic over FSA investigation call
The British Insurance Brokers’ Association is concerned that claims by Eliot Spitzer, from the New York Attorney General’s office, of anti-competitive practices in the US insurance sector are unfairly damaging the UK market. It believes irresponsible and unjustified speculation is prompting fears that the UK insurance market could face similar charges. This is despite the fact that there is no evidence to support such allegations and that adequate systems are in place to ensure brokers and intermediaries are open and fair with their customers.
