This week: Keep calm and carry on
This week the World Health Organisation labelled Covid-19 a pandemic as the number infected worldwide and fatalities from the disease continue to rise. As global stock markets crash sparking fears of a recession, the ripple effect has been felt across the insurance industry. But following the UK government's emergency Cobra meeting yesterday the advice seems to be to self isolate if you suffer symptoms of the virus but for now it's business as usual.
For some it was usual as Aon confirmed its plans to buy Willis Towers Watson, a deal mooted in 2019 but abandoned in March. Ratings Agencies were positive about the move but Airmic CEO John Ludlow
