This is the fourth year in a row that Post has won the highly coveted title.

Editor-in-chief Jonathan Swift said: "This is a deserved reward for the immense effort that the team puts in every day to keep Post ahead of the competition in print and online. For that to be recognised by the industry is truly gratifying.

"This year has been another notable year for the title, not least for the launch of the iPad edition, and the increased activity in the social media space on Twitter and Facebook.

"Special mention should also go to Post senior reporter Chinwe Akomah, who was the only person on a trade title to be shortlisted for up-and-coming financial journalist of the year, which is great recognition for how far she has come since joining Post in summer 2011."

Editor Lynn Rouse and her team collected the award, which was sponsored by Ageas, at a gala dinner in London attended by journalists and press officers from across the financial services sector.
