It has been a busy week for recruitment, with insurers picking up staff to lead operations old and new. Hiscox was among the bigger movers, recruiting three new underwriting staff, while Allianz brought in Neil Brettell to replace the promoted Jon Dye.Brokers we re also active, with Howden swooping for a managing director in its new private clients division in the shape of Lycetts' Simon Aitken.

• Among insurers, Sterling followed the launch of its new regional office in Birmingham with the appointment of Wendy Travers as commercial regional underwriting manager and Ryan Piner as household
