Market Moves: Busy insurers make a raft of hires along with a number of key departures

Insurers led the way in a recruitment frenzy this week. AIG swooped for a head of commercial property, while Hardy acquired a property treaty business unit manager. There were departures too, with QBE’s Steven Burns announcing retirement from full time executive work, Towergate’s Simon Trott departing after 10 years, and Jelf-owned Purple Partnership’s chairman Alec Finch stepping down.

• In a busy week for insurers, AIG appointed Steve Cousins to the role of UK head of commercial property. Formerly of RSA and Lexington, Cousins will be based in London and report to Jacqueline

Claims service stayed steady at end of 2024

The consistent improvement in claims service seen over the last 18 months plateaued at the end of 2024, with the market average NPS remaining at -4 and just one point up on the NPS recorded at the end of 2023.
