Record football fundraising day

This year’s Prince’s Trust Insurance Leadership Group Cup, sponsored by Groupama Insurances and supported by www.insurancejobs.co.uk, produced some scintillating football and a record-breaking fundraising total of £20 000 for the UK charity.

Up to 30 teams from across the insurance market battled it out - in some cases quite literally - for the annual six-a-side trophy at London's Regent's Park. As is traditional with this event, the sun shone until late in the day, and the team at the Prince's Trust put on a very enjoyable event with an evening reception featuring a bar and hot food.

Talbot Underwriting triumphed in the Insurance Cup, narrowly beating Novae in the final. The Plate competition was won by sponsors Groupama Insurances, who beat Liberty Syndicates in the final.

Post, Insurance Age and PB also fielded a team as event supporters, and made it as far as the semi-final of the Cup competition, losing 1-0 to eventual winners Talbot Underwriting.
