Equity World Cup competition – week five: Take a shot at an Ipad
The 2010 World Cup is almost over, and so to our accumulator competition run in conjunction with Equity Red Star draws to a close.
Throughout the tournament, we have posed a series of World Cup-themed questions giving you the chance to win a host of great prizes. These are given to the winner of each of the weekly competitions at www.broking.co.uk/competition but, to win the Ipad, you must answer each weekly competition correctly - and then complete the tie breaker with a twist. But more about that later.
The final competition closes at 12pm on 13 July, with the winner announced on 15 July. Last week's prize - a digital camera - was won by Susan Myers of E Lloyd Hartland & Co, who correctly answered the three questions: a) father b) brother c) father-in-law.
This week, to win tickets to see England in a qualifying game for the 2012 European Championships, simply tell us which European club teams these international players have in common:
1. Eric Abidal (France), Rafael Marquez (Mexico) and David Villa (Spain)
2. Luis Suarez (Uruguay), Gregory van der Wiel (Netherlands) and Christian Eriksen (Denmark)
3. Harry Kewell (Australia), Abdelkader Keita (Ivory Coast) and Elano (Brazil)
Once you have done that, the fun really begins with the Equity Red Star penalty challenge. Last month, managing director and active underwriter John Josiah threw down the gauntlet to Post editor Jonathan Swift for a penalty shootout.
Watch the video of John taking five penalties against Jonathan; the tricky bit being that each kick either stops short by being saved, goes wide or results in a goal. All you have to do is watch the five clips and deduce how many goals were scored. The winner of the Ipad will be the person who not only answered the five sets of questions correctly - but also guessed the correct number of penalties ending up in the net.
