Penny Black's Insurance Week: 8 October 2015

Being a life-long pogonophobic November can be a very trying month, as the masculine half of the country embraces its inner hairiness and it is acceptable to sport all manner of moustaches, side burns and the dreaded beard, in order to raise money for charity in Movember.

One was delighted, therefore, to hear of one insurance professional who will instead be doing an anti-Movember to raise money for cancer research. Peter Staddon of the Managing General Agents Association will become clean shaven for the first time in what he says is living memory for most in the market. In fact, he believes he was last without a facial adornment in his teens.

Learning that last week follicle boffin Morgan Gustavsson has revealed his laser-powered razor, one wonders if Staddon would consider removing the appendage with a lightsabre to make it a true event to remember.
