Natural catastrophe losses saw Munich Re’s property-casualty reinsurance segment report a €476m (£422.7m) loss for 2017.
This compares to a profit of €2bn for the previous year. The combined operating ratio for 2017 amounted to 114.1% as a result of the losses.
