Berkshire Hathaway hit for $3bn from Q3 natcats

Berkshire Hathaway's reinsurance and insurance division is in the red for underwriting in 2017 after a string of major natural disasters.

Pre-tax third quarter underwriting losses from hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria and from the Mexican earthquakes across Berkshire’s insurance businesses reached $3bn, meaning a $1.44bn loss in Q3
