Fitch said it would monitor the situation with regards Brit's interest in Lloyd's rival Chaucer.
Fitch Ratings has today downgraded Brit Insurance's Insurer Financial Strength rating to 'A' from 'A+'.
Fitch has also downgraded the subordinated notes issued by Brit Insurance Holdings to 'BBB-'
