Although some reports suggest the number of nuisance calls is falling, Aviva's consumer research found that 70% of Brits said they had received a nuisance call or text in the past seven days, with 36% of those who received a cold call or text saying they are contacted on a daily basis writes Andrew Morrish, claims director, Aviva.

Figures from Ofcom suggest that insurance-related cold calls account for 21% of all nuisance calls that are made.
