Cost to insurers from French floods could be €2bn

Damages from the floods affecting Paris and the surrounding areas could almost reach €2bn, one of the country’s biggest insurers has warned.

Pascal Demurger, director general of French mutual insurers group MAIF said in a statement that the cost to the industry could be three times the €600m seen in the floods last year.
