Four seriously injured after Alton Towers rollercoaster crash

Four people have been seriously injured after a rollercoaster carriage carrying sixteen people crashed into a stationary carriage at the Alton Towers theme park in Staffordshire.
West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed it was in attendance at an incident involving the resort's Smiler ride after a 999 call was received at 2.09pm.
