Biba looks to reintroduce midwife cover
The British Insurance Brokers' Association is poised to enter talks with the three members of its professional indemnity broker panel to reintroduce cover for independent midwives.
While NHS midwives are insured by trusts, midwives working privately have had no insurance since 1994, when a scheme operated by the Royal College of Midwives excluded independent midwives.
