ABI's Mary Francis joins Centrica

Mary Francis, the director-general of the Association of British Insurers, has been appointed non-executive director of Centrica, Britain's biggest household gas and electricity supplier, according to today’s Financial Times.

It is understood to be the first time a directorship of a FTSE 100 company has been held by the leader of the ABI, whose 400 member companies own more than 20 per cent of all UK shares.
