City minister Siddiq is replaced by Reynolds

Less than 24 hours before she was due to appear at the British Insurance Brokers’ Association’s Manifesto launch, Tulip Siddiq has resigned as Treasury minister and been replaced by Labour MP Emma Reynolds.

Siddiq quit her role this afternoon (14 January), following repeated calls for Labour prime minister Sir Keir Starmer to sack her after she was named in an investigation into claims her family

Insurance complaints take a slight dip

The Financial Conduct Authority’s latest data has shown insurance and pure protection complaints decreased 6% from 764,272 in the first half of 2024 to 718,496 in the second half.
