UK and Ireland winter storms to cost Zurich $275m
Zurich is expecting to record an operating loss in general insurance for the fourth quarter of its financial year as a result of strong storms across the UK and Ireland.
The global insurer is anticipating to payout $275m (£194m) after storms Desmond, Eva and Frank brought heavy rainfall and flooding to northern England, Scotland and Ireland late last year.
