ERS reports profit for first time since 2009

Insurer ERS has recorded a half year profit for the first time since 2009 improving its 2013 Q2 result by £25m.

ERS, formerly Equity Red Star, reported revenues of £1.16m for the period ended 30 June 2014; an improvement on its loss of £23.5m in the same period last year.

The insurer's combined ratio improved
