PICC plans 5.8bn yuan rights offer to boost capital

Chinese insurer PICC Property & Casualty has signaled its intention to raise 5.8bn yuan ($944m) in a rights offer in China and Hong Kong.

The move is designed to help the firm to meet capital requirements, according to a filing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

The company will offer 1.1 new shares for every 10 existing shares held.
