Insurers raise concerns over inadequate cover for amateur football players
Doubts have been raised that grassroots footballers will be provided with adequate insurance protection after the Football Association mandated that personal accident cover must be provided for all adult 11-a-side players.
By the next footballing season, players in regional leagues must be covered through their clubs, with the minimum level of cover required to be determined at a local level by county FAs.
