Penny Black's Insurance Week

After a raucous few weeks, it was nice to return to civility over the weekend as Penny was treated to a day out at Henley Royal Regatta. After enduring a night under canvas with undesirables last year, Penny was pleased to maintain a more dignified air this time around, as she hobnobbed with the great and good at Brokerbility’s upper-class bash. While the day began with a glass of bubbly amid wet and wild conditions — talk of a dreaded ‘flood warning’ was mentioned on more than one occasion — it soon brightened up and much fun was had with a bunch of boisterous brokers, before a somewhat un-ladylike climb onto the back of a tractor on the way to a river cruise. When it comes to cricket, however, Penny is a bit of a novice, so she was delighted when Ai Claims invited her to Lord’s to watch England v Australia on Friday. Her hosts David Sandhu and Chris Shaw were more than happy to give her a detailed explanation as to how sport was played and Tony Scott of Canopius even bought her an indepth guide to the game. By the end of the match, Penny was sure she could give former England cricketer Phil Tufnell — who made a surprise appearance during lunch — a run for his money.
