Industry welcomes riot claims period extension
The insurance industry has welcomed the Prime Minister's decision to agree to extend the period for policyholders to lodge claims from 14 to 42 days under the Riot Damages Act.
David Cameron made the announcement today in Parliament and also reassured underwriters the government will ensure the police will have enough funds to pay claims.
