Dual Italia, part of the Dual Group, has announced an agreement with banking group Intesa Sanpaolo Group to sell directors’ and officers’ policies through all of the bank’s branches that service corporate clients.

The agreement has been signed by Dual's capacity provider Arch Insurance Company (Europe), and as and when appropriate Dual expects to roll out the model through similar banking partnerships in its other international territories.

Bob Van Gieson, CEO of Dual International, the London headquarters of the Dual Group, commented: "We're delighted to have made this agreement with Intesa Sanpaolo Group. Not only is the concept of bancassurance for D&O in its infancy, but Intesa Sanpaolo Group is the largest and one of the most respected financial institutions in Italy and Europe. It's an exciting development both for Dual and the market.

He added: "The Italian D&O market is still undeveloped despite the fact that over the last year we have seen a significant increase in the demand for this policy. Group Intesa Sanpaolo's decision to enter into this arena with a specialist D&O provider is significant and illustrates the increasing awareness of the banking distribution network to offer specialist innovative solutions in an undeveloped area that has great potential."
