Scor stays in black despite asset writedowns

Scor, the French reinsurance giant, recorded a net income in 2008 despite recoreding €260m of asset writedowns.

The company recorded a net income of €315m in 2008, down 22.8% from €407m compared to 2007. On a pro-forma basis, income is down 32.7% from €468m in 2007.

The Group's gross written premiums reached €5
