Claims Apprentice 2022: Episode three – Marine insurance treasure hunt
A task close to sponsor Kennedys’ ‘Alan Sugar’ Christopher Dunn’s own heart, as it revolves around a treasure hunt focused on his specialist area, marine insurance.
To win the challenge the six apprentices will have to answer six riddles and questions that will take them to locations in London with relevance to the marine market. They have also been given a shopping list with four items to acquire with a budget of £20.
The teams cannot split up and have three hours to complete the task.
In terms of scoring, teams get fifteen points for every shopping list object acquired/location photographed, giving them a maximum 150 points.
For every minute a team returns late they will be deducted two points, with no points gained for being early.
For every photo or object not taken/acquired a team will be deducted ten points.
In the event of a tie first team back to base wins
The challenge will be judged by Kennedys’ partner Christopher Chatfield, a colleague of Dunn who specialises in marine insurance, shipping and logistics.
With the clock ticking, the big questions are:
- Which team will plan the best route to maximise the 180 minutes and visit the most locations?
- Will Chatfield take a dim view on the teams using their initiative in seeking short cuts to save money and time?
- Who will risk public transport to get around - and who will prefer to stay on foot?
