Putin pledges to battle FSA over Alfa Bank
Russian prime minister Vladimir Putin has pledged to help private Russian bank Alfa in its dispute with the Financial Services Authority, according to reports in the Russian media.
Alfa Bank finances private equity group Pamplona, which is hoping to increase its 9.9% stake in Lloyd's insurer Chaucer but has had its bid halted by the FSA.
Prime minister Putin has also responded
