Claims cost European insurers €930bn in 2011
A total of €930bn in claims was paid out by the European insurance sector in 2011 – a 7.5% increase on 2010, figures from Insurance Europe have revealed.
The European insurance and reinsurance federation found that life insurance benefits, which account for two-thirds of the total benefits and claims paid to policyholders totaled €619bn, while non-life
