Best Insurance Employers
Each year, Post asks employees across the insurance sector to rate their employer. This year saw the biggest response yet, with over 2800 responses from insurance employees at all levels, from entry-level to C-suite.
More than 100 insurers, brokers and MGAs were nominated across two categories, small to medium employers (SMEs) as well as large employers. The winners in each category are announced at the 2022 British Insurance Awards.
Winners
Konsileo and Direct Line Group won the categories at this year’s British Insurance Awards, both walking home with a 5* rating, as well as the award for Best Insurance Employer (SME) and Best Insurance Employer (Large) respectively.
Best of the rest: Large
This year’s winners faced tough competition, with many firms also earning a 5* rating, and showing significant improvement from 2021. Below are those who received a 5*, 4* or 3* rating.
Best of the rest: SME
Smaller employers saw a particularly strong response from employees, with some receiving nominations from over half their workforce. Below are those who received a 5*, 4* or 3* rating.
Methodology
The Best Insurance Employer survey covers personal factors, such as benefits, pay, and personal development, as well as company values, such as commitment to ESG, diversity, and work-life balance.
In each category, employees are asked to rate their employer out of 10. If the employer receives enough nominations, a combination of these employees ratings is used to determine the firm’s final score, and how many stars they achieve out of a possible five. Listed below are the 14 large firms and 12 SMEs which managed to achieve 3* or more.
