Long-awaited Hong Kong insurance regulator begins

The Insurance Authority has taken over regulating the insurance market in Hong Kong today.

The organisation, which replaces the Office of Commisioner of Insurance, will be overseen by OCI’s CEO John Leung Chi-yan until at least 25 June 2018; the IA’s chairman is Dr Moses Cheng.
