Public bodies forced to self-insure due to government cost cutting

Ocado's stunted listing compounds UK's faltering IPO market

The government is pushing public bodies to dramatically cut their commercial insurance costs, a Post investigation can reveal.

A Freedom of Information request by Post has revealed that Network Rail spent 61% less on insurance last year than they did in 2015, from £87m to £34m in 2016. The body said it is now self-insuring
