Co-op Insurance sees strong GI growth in H1 2016

Co-op’s General Insurance Division has seen a 29% increase in gross written premiums in the first half of 2016, up to £242m from £187m for the same period last year.

The group saw 100000 more new policies sold in H1 2016 than in the first half of 2015. Underlying operating profit improved to £11m from £2m in H1 2015.

Mark Summerfield, CEO of Co-op Insurance said:
